I have a dream…
Hundreds of bitcoin UX researchers and designers spread across the globe all collecting speaking with users of bitcoin wallet and by doing so collecting information about:
Use cases
Friction points
Jobs that users expect wallets to perform
And then feeding this information back to the ecosystem. A long tern vision I’d love to see not only to support builders but also for the ecosystem to be aware of real use cases. If we are not aware of what is going on on the ground we are inevitably building products for ourselves.
Imagine an open and transparent database for all builders to search, packed with information which is country specific.
Now that that’s out of the way the last two weeks have been packed. Many many calls and much building going on.
🍃Education
How can we educate and bring in the next generation of UX designers and researchers? The answer is right in front of us —> by using all of the resources that already exist in the Bitcoin Design Community.
Have put together a website for the first ever bitcoin UX bootcamp which will be taking place in Africa later this year. It’s still WIP but had a bunch of fun putting together copy and building the website.
🏪 Workshops
Planned and created a UX workshop for an upcoming event where we’ll be using the Jobs to be Done framework to understand the use cases and friction points of high risk individuals.
👁️🗨️PR’s
Been reviewing PR’s and supporting grantees as much as possible as they wrap up their writeups. There’s 3 in progress, Inheritance, Ecash and Silent Payments. Also don’t forget to join the Ecash PR review call next week, let’s support Erik all the way to the finish line.
🫂Community and relationship building
Together with Christoph pushed the latest newsletter live, jumped on a call with Aqua wallet to for an introduction and discuss possibilities for future collab and also supported the Open Design Guide call which is being moved forward bit by bit with the weekly reading group.
🙏Will be mostly offline next week attending an event so in the meantime wishing you a peaceful week.
